It was only supposed to be one song.
Someone left the studio unlocked, the mic was sitting right there, and apparently my ability to make sensible decisions disappears completely when a red ON AIR light comes on.
One song became three.
Three became taking requests.
Taking requests became giving unsolicited relationship advice to strangers at stupid o'clock in the morning.
In my defence, they called.
Whether I was qualified to answer is an entirely different fucking question.
By the time someone finally realised I wasn't supposed to be there, I'd already renamed the show, insulted one caller, dedicated a song to someone's ex and discovered that security takes considerably longer to arrive when they're laughing.
I put the microphone down.
“Same time tomorrow?”
The producer stared at me.
I took that as a yes.
